Privacy & choices.

A little measurement helps me understand what’s useful. Your workshop answers stay yours.

Website analytics

I use PostHog to understand which pages people visit, which links they follow, and whether tools such as Why Canvas are useful. Analytics runs only when Cloudflare identifies a request as coming from Australia or the United States. It stays off elsewhere, when the country is unknown, and on development and preview sites.

PostHog processes these events in its US Cloud service. Cookieless measurement does not put analytics cookies or identifiers in your browser storage. PostHog receives network and browser information, including your IP address and user agent, and uses it with the website hostname and a daily salt to derive an identifier for that day. Cookieless does not mean no information is processed.

I don’t enable session recordings, person profiles or automatic capture of what you type. Analytics excludes form values, email addresses, canvas titles, names, answers, drafts, imports, exports and URL queries or fragments. Page and action names come from a fixed list. PostHog’s privacy policy explains its processing.

Your choice

You can turn analytics off for this browser. The site also respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Your choice is saved on this device and applies to both the portfolio and Why Canvas; clearing browser storage removes the saved choice.

Why Canvas

Your drafts and theme preferences are stored in your browser. Canvas answers are not sent to PostHog. Exports are files you choose to save or share. Shared links can contain canvas settings, so share them only with people you intend to receive them.

Newsletter and videos

If you subscribe, Ghost receives your email address and handles confirmation and newsletter delivery. You can unsubscribe using the link in each email. The signup form loads from jsDelivr and connects to newsletter.rodsampera.com. See Ghost’s privacy policy.

YouTube players load only when you choose to play a video. YouTube then receives your connection information and applies its own privacy and storage practices. External links take you to services with their own policies.

Hosting and contact

Cloudflare hosts this website and processes connection information to serve pages, keep the service secure and diagnose errors. Its operational processing is separate from optional PostHog analytics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
